Such a big boy! Gavyn started school today at Ecole des Trois Soleil He did so very well! Momma on the other hand could not hold back the tears. So very proud of him and still somewhat sad at the end of some amazing time together. Gavyn will spend part of his time with the Kindergarten class and part with his preschool friends. He only attends in the afternoons which still leaves lots of time for fun with Momma and Noah in the mornings.
At this point Gavyn knows many words in French including his ABCs, numbers, colours, animals, and camion and tracteur of course. He also has some phrases down, including the most popular ... "Noah, ne touche pas a mon ... " Gavyn is still very shy though and is not super excited about communication in French with his new friends. As he put it "Why do I need to speak French, when I can already say it in English?" His teacher in the Kindergarten class is Debbie and his Françaisisation teacher will be Annie. We know that muddling through the first few weeks will be a challenge but that the benefits to his bilingualism will be priceless. Go Gettem' Gav!!
