Noah is 6 months old!!

Hard to believe that Noah was 6 months old on Christmas day! He has now started to eat solids -- so far he has tried brown rice and today had some banana. Both seemed to be quite yummy.

As for Gavyn, he has been enjoying the lap top he got for Christmas! Such big boys!!

Merry Christmas 2007!!!

We had a lovely Christmas despite being away from friends and family.

Gavyn, Noah and Daddy opened one of their gifts on Christmas Eve --

-- matching flannel PJs.

Here we are on Christmas morning in our flannels and Noah dressed up as Santa.
Gavyn coming down the stairs on Christmas morning.

Here is Noah, smiling as usual and another shot of him with his stocking.

Noah in a basket with fun balls.
Gavyn got lots and lots of tractors, trucks and games. He was so excited and wanted to play with everything all at once.
After opening our gifts we had our Christmas breakfast, then got dressed up and played outside. It was a mild -15 degrees and a snowy day. We decided to head over to the middle school where they have a great sliding hill.

Noah napped while Gavyn and Daddy slid down the steep hill.

Gavyn also enjoyed some time on the swings.

Once back at home it was lunch and nap time. After nap -- more playing!!! We then had our Christmas dinner (turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes and mashed potatoes, squash, carrots, gravy and fresh bread) Here is the 18 lb turkey that we cooked for just Matt and I.

Gavyn isn't a turkey fan. We will have lots and lots of leftovers for the next little while!!

After our big meal, we all settled on the couch to watch one of Gavyn's new movies (Surf's up) that he got from Yvan. Really cute movie!
Then off to bed for the boys! Momma and Daddy stayed up a bit to watch part of the Planet Earth DVD collection that Momma got Daddy for Christmas -- such amazing cinematography!!!

Hoping that you all had as lovely a Christmas as we did!!!

Holiday Open House 2007

Yesterday we held our Open House. It was so great that lots and lots of friends showed up!!

Here is Gavyn with his friend Grace playing "Watch out for Captain Hook" Captain Hook was being played by Faith (Grace's little sister) She is in the picture below on the couch with Matt and Gray (her daddy)
Gavyn had a fantastic time playing with his friends (Grace, Faith, Mackenzie, Danny, Keigan, and Maple)

Here is Momma hanging out with Maple.

Noah's friends came over too (Logan, Aurora M, Aurora B, Lucas, Luke and Hazel)

Over 30 people were here. Lots of food, drinks and fun times were had!!

And here is a picture of Momma and Noah. Noah was weighed on Wed (Dec 19) and he now weighs just over 21 lbs. He is such a happy guy!

Here is Noah with Santa!

And here is a Polaroid taken of Gavyn, Noah, Santa and I at playgroup!

And then there were two...

Yes...believe it or not, Noah now has 2 teeth!!! And yes, he does own more than one outfit, but how funny that he is wearing the same outfit today as he was a week ago when he got his first tooth.

We are all doing well. It has been a busy week. The boys have been having fun with Grandpa. We've had some really cold days too. Here is one of the pretty pics I nabbed earlier this week.

Be well!!!

Noah has his 1st tooth; Grandpa is here; and we made the Evening News (in a good way!!)

A very exciting couple of days! Hooray...Noah has his 1st tooth! Hard to see it in this picture, but it's there. Right, front, bottom tooth. It popped out today (December 13th). He hasn't been complaining at all about it coming through -- so fingers crossed the other teeth will come in the same way!

Yesterday Grandpa arrived. Gavyn was so excited that he just couldn't seem to fall asleep for his afternoon nap. Noah must have known something was up too, cause he didn't nap either.

We have been showing Grandpa our new home and the big city of Iqaluit. That was of course after a bit of playtime and colouring.

This morning we brought Grandpa on a tour around Iqaluit and into the neighbouring town of Apex. It was a cloudy day so it was difficult to see the mountains across the bay, but he got a good view of the ice!!

This afternoon Gavyn and I made some Gingerbread for a Christmas party for the Iqaluit Mites hockey team.

The party will be this coming Sunday, with a visit from Santa and all. Here is Gavyn rolling out the dough for our cookies.

And as for tonight -- Gavyn, Noah and Momma were on the CBC Northbeat News. We were interviewed for a piece on energy conservation in the North and Momma was asked about when and why we made the switch to LED lights. We also have our Christmas tree lit with LEDs. It was pretty cool!!

Noah is sitting up!!

Even if only for a minute, Noah is now sitting up on his own. Here he is playing with some of his toys in our living room.

As for Daddy and Gavyn, they were brave enough to bundle up and venture out to play in this crazy -35 degree weather. Nice outfits eh?

The wind today was really harsh, and tonight our home is shaking. Gotta love the north ;)

Lazy Sunday...

Today was a bit of a lazy day. This morning we just hung out at home.

Momma and Noah juiced some tangerines. It is nice to have fresh juice in our smoothies!!

After lunch Gavyn and Daddy played Crokinole, then it was time for a nap.

Then after nap it was time to play outside with our friends. Gavyn and Daddy have a nice sliding hill going on the side of our home. Faith and Grace, and their daddy Gray came over to slide. Whee!!!!

Santa Parade

This morning was the Santa Claus parade in Iqaluit.
It was a chilly one with blowing winds.

Santa waved and threw us some candy canes. Here are Gavyn and Mackenzie with their loot.

Gavyn played with his friends Mackenzie and Keagan while the parade was going by.

Noah enjoyed the parade wrapped up in Momma's sling and napped through the festivities.
HO! HO! HO! Merry Christmas!!!
