La Journée Terry Fox

Gavyn had such a great day for his Terry Fox 5 Km --
Yes...Gavyn's first 5K!
We are so proud of the work he did and the money he raised for the Terry Fox foundation and Cancer Research.

Birthday Bash!

We had a great time at Gavyn's birthday party -- seeing as all of Gavyn's friends were away over the summer, we waited till school started to have his party for his 5th birthday. So much fun!
A Special Thank you to Catherine and Erik for spending your day with us to help set up, as well as, cleaning up.

Pizza Hut Pizza was a hit for lunch. There were tables for Play-doh, colouring, and some games that were set up. Of course, running around and chasing each other was quite popular too.

We made our own version of Dairy Queen's ice cream cake

and baked some cake pops as extra treats
(Thanks for the inspiration Bakerella!)

Pinata Time!!

We had such a good time!

Snowy Bonfire

Our friends invited us to their beach front home for a bonfire and roasted marchmallows. It was a beautifully snowy afternoon and the kids had a blast running around and playing "pirate" on their big red boat. It was a great afternoon!
Thank you for a great afternoon!

It's Here! It's Here!

Our SeaLift boat arrived last Saturday and we got our crate today just before lunch time. Yes, it is just like Christmas. The boys were so excited.

SuperStars!

To our big surprise, while reading our latest issue of Chirp, we came across some familiar little monkeys. Gav and Noah had a picture of their Puppy Finger Puppets (a craft from the April issue of Chirp) included in the September issue. Check out the Crafty Kids section on page 27. The boys were so proud and a little confused as to how their picture was in a magazine.

Saturday mornings...

Happily playing together...okay, even if only long enough for me to take the picture ;)

First Snow of the year

Although our actual first snow was last week (September 6th) we had a great surprise when we woke up today. The boys were so excited! Won't be long now before we start rebuilding our snow forts!!!

Adjusting to the routine

Gavyn is enjoying school! Time with friends has been lots of fun and the school program is filled with great activities, including a day of model-boat building and eventual racing. Last Friday they had a school "Pique-Nique" at the beach. Here is a pic of the Sand and Seaweed castles that Gavyn made with his buddy Rocco.

Noah was able to snag half of Gavyn's cob from the corn roast at the beach.

On the other hand, at breakfast this morning, as Gavyn was telling us of how much fun school is, Noah said "No more school Gavyn." Noah misses his big brother/constant play partner while he is away during the day, often asking if it is time to get Gavyn yet... Once Gavyn is home, Noah then sits as close as possible to him and follows him around even more than usual. I suppose we are all adjusting in our own way.
